Useful information if you need it...
What is the most important thing I need to do?
The primary e-mail address in your SimpleURL Customer Account is your username, but more importantly, it's the only address where we'll mail your password. We also use it for sending renewal notices. Be sure to login and update your e-mail address when it changes. If you don't keep it current, you'll have problems.
Can I have more than one SimpleURL Customer Account?
Most customers have all their domains in one customer account, but if you have two or three e-mail addresses, you can have two or three different customer accounts with us. It's up to you. When you register a domainname, the contact e-mail address you supply in the final step determines which account the domain is put into. We can move domains from one account to another for you when necessary.
Can I change my passwords?
You can change your customer account password at any time in your customer account, but we need to change the individual domain control panel passwords for you. Just write to us.
Can I mix customer domains in my Customer Account?
If you manage domains for others, you can put all the domains you manage in YOUR customer account, but still give the domain owners access to their individual domain control panels with their own passwords.
Your system doesn't recognize my domain name. Why?
If you supply a domain name in the form above, and it tells you that domain isn't one of ours, that means that there is no exact match in our "completed domain" database. The reasons could be:
- the domain isn't registered yet if newly ordered
- the domain isn't transferred yet, if it's being transferred
- you misspelled it or put a space before or in the name
- you forgot to add the .com/.net/.org/.us/.biz/.info/.cc at the end
Where do I renew domains?
All renewals for domains we already hold are submitted from SimpleURL customer accounts. All renewals for domains that are still with other registrars are submitted through the Transfer/Renew link on our site. They're really transfers to us which automatically adds a year onto the expiration date. The transfer process takes calendar time, so don't wait until the last day or last week.
How do I change nameservers for a domain?
- access the domain control panel above
- click the nameserver link
- choose "use your own nameservers" from the menu
- type in one nameserver name per box - NO IP addresses!!!
- click "Modify" at the bottom when you're done
- wait for it to complete
How quick are nameserver changes?
Nameserver changes on the internet typically take 24 - 72 hours to propagate, so don't expect immediate results! We have no control over that, since it's handled by the Verisign Registry.
